The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the 11th largest country in the world, presents both vast mining potential and operational challenges, including limited infrastructure and a complex landscape. Despite this, AECI Mining Explosives has maintained a strong and enduring presence in the region, partnering with major mining operations to deliver end-to-end explosives solutions.

Under the leadership of Kazadi Kaninda, Managing Director of AECI DRC, the company supports leading mining operations such as Kamoa-Ivanhoe, KICO, and ABM. Its comprehensive service offering spans the full explosives value chain, from blast design and initiation systems to explosives supply, blasting equipment, and on-site support.

With over 20 years of experience in the DRC’s mining industry, Kaninda was recently recognised at DRC Mining Week for his significant contributions to the sector. Reflecting on the honour, he expressed pride in the role AECI Mining Explosives DRC continues to play in advancing the region’s mining industry.
