Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has announced a strategic service partnership with Exion Asia Pte Ltd to expand support for the marine sector in Southeast Asia, marking the launch of its first Marine Hub in the region. The move comes as the global marine industry accelerates its transition toward lower-carbon fuels, driving increased demand for specialized aftermarket services for cryogenic equipment onboard vessels. In response, Nikkiso CE&IG is implementing a global strategy centered on five fully integrated marine hubs, designed to provide localized inventory, expert field service teams, and regional workshop capabilities.
Under the agreement, Singapore will serve as Nikkiso CE&IG’s Southeast Asia Marine Hub. Exion Asia, part of the SWTS Asia Group, brings an extensive regional footprint, with 17 workshops across Southeast Asia, including three major facilities in Singapore. Additional service locations in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia will support comprehensive regional coverage.
The partnership enhances the capabilities of Nikkiso CE&IG’s Cryogenic Services Business Unit, enabling it to deliver dry-docking maintenance, equipment exchange programmes, system upgrades, engineering services, and emergency response support throughout the region.
Sean Fanniff, president of Nikkiso CE&IG’s Cryogenic Services Business Unit, said: “Singapore is a major global hub for the marine industry, and partnering with Exion Asia strengthens our presence in Southeast Asia. With more than 1,400 cryogenic pumps installed on vessels worldwide, this partnership supports our ability to deliver consistent, world-class service across the region.”
“We are proud to partner with Nikkiso CE&IG Group to support the growing demand for cryogenic equipment services in the marine sector,” said Eugene Yap, group deputy managing director of Exion Asia. “By combining Nikkiso’s cryogenic technology expertise with Exion Asia’s regional service infrastructure and field support capabilities, we can provide faster, reliable support to fleet operators across Southeast Asia.”
